Town Hall Assembly 1PM to 3PM (PT)... The Pacifica Radio Station KPFK 90.7 FM Non-Commercial LSB-Local Station Board Outreach Committee, invites you to the 2nd Town Hall event on Sun. Nov., 27, 2022, 1 PM-3 PM (PT). The regular monthly meetings are last Sunday of the month, 11:30 AM. We will meet via Zoom virtual platform: you can connect either via Telephone or video from a Computer. This Town Hall event will be promoted at KPFK.org and on air… The LSB Outreach Committee is an open community membership, welcoming all to participate and volunteer for the community events we must cover to expand the KPFK signal... We will continue discussion Per the Pacifica Foundation Bylaws, at least 2 Town Halls are required per year. This is how each network Radio Station as KPFK 90.7 FM listens to its listener in the signal area, to guide station management to make proper programming decisions, etc. Per the Pacifica Mission Statement at: https://www.pacifica.org/about_mission.php *** Topics that will be covered: recent community Outreach efforts, updates on station matter by the IGM-Interim General Manager Michael Novick and PED-.Pacifica Executive Director Stephanie Wells. KPFK recently acquired a volunteer new IGM-Interim General Manager Michael Novick, former Chair of the LSB-Local Station Board, who resigned his post at the LSB to take on this very challenging position as KPFK IGM. We now expect that the Outreach Town Halls will begin its on-air promotion as per Pacifica Bylaws. IGM Michael Novick attended our meeting on 9-25-22, where he introduced himself, shared his background, and goal initiatives moving forward, where 14 listeners/Members attended. The IGM should give us an update on such initiatives since, etc. The Pacifica Foundation ED-Executive Director Stephanie Wells has also been invited. How can we all collaborate to move forward with a common goal... The Outreach Committee keeps stressing the dire need for KPFK Radio to open-up its doors again to volunteers… Non-commercial Radio Station KPFK 90,7 FM diverse communities in its signal area need to be outreached to, so that the station and the Governance system represented by the LSB-Local Station Board's Outreach Committee can bring many unheard voices to the table… We need to coordinate virtual/electronic ideas to spread KPFK's presence throughout the Station signal area and beyond in 2022... More volunteers are needed to participate, to help spread the word about KPFK 90.7 FM at various community public events. KPFK 90.7 FM is unique with a Non-Commercial format supported by the listeners since 1959. Our current financial condition requires immediate strategies to help KPFK get over this current funk. Your donations at any time are most welcomed, and an annual membership of $25.00 qualifies to vote for the Board Candidates during the elections, and other benefits… Please bring your brainstorming suggestions, to collaborate. We urge you to volunteer in this important effort.
